the-5-step-morning-ritual-that-will-transform-your-days-weeks-and-years

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

Habits make our life. They may not be the glamorous and exciting parts of our days, yet they are the most transformative. Little by little they lead us to remarkable results. It all starts with the small seemingly insignificant day in day out habits that add up to life-changing breakthroughs in your work and in life.

There is one that stands apart from the others. Every successful individual that I’ve met who are operating at their fullest implement this habit every single day, and that is of the morning ritual. This is when the magic happens. Your morning ritual is what will set you up to have a productive and successful day, week, and year.

In this episode, I share:

  • The 5-step morning ritual to end hustling day in and day out
  • 3 questions to ask yourself in order to internally activate and charge you for the day
  • How to guarantee you progress your high-impact work with time blocking
  • The worst mistake 85% of people make before they get out of bed each morning and what to do instead

If you enjoyed this episode, consider sharing with a friend or colleague who will benefit from it! I encourage you to create a morning ritual that is your own. Send me a message on Instagram and let me know all about it @rita_hyland_coaching.

5 Reinvention Questions That Can Change Your Life Forever

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

As my daughter gets ready to graduate high school this year and move on to the next chapter of her life, I can’t help but think about all the possibilities that await her in the next few years. As new doors are opened in our lives, it is often difficult to close the ones that are behind us and fully embrace the potential in front of us. At the same time, with every change in circumstance comes the opportunity to become the person we’ve always wanted to be, whether that’s starting college, beginning a new job, or making a big move. No matter how old we are, we will continue to have periods of reinvention in life again and again and again.

If you’re feeling stuck in a rut in any aspect of your life, it may be time to tune into your deepest cravings and desires. I firmly believe that deep down each of us already knows what we are called to do and what we can’t afford not to do. It can be scary and uncomfortable to take the leap towards a new stage of life, but it’s when we stop resisting that we can move through the process of reinvention that allows us to build the life we’ve always dreamed of. So grab a pen and paper, because today we’re walking through how to experience and enjoy the full Reinvention Process that the pandemic has thrown so many into.

In this episode, I share:

  • 5 clarifying questions to ask yourself that can change your life forever
  • 3 ways to break through the barriers that most face when reinventing themselves
  • An exercise to work your fear all the way to its bottom
  • Why you must accept that you cannot have control through every phase of your reinvention process

It’s Time To Rethink How We Approach Productivity

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

Have you ever returned home from a trip and felt like a completely different person? That happened to me last week after a scenic and peaceful stay in Wyoming. It was a nice change of pace and I was reminded of the power of practicing silence, which inspired today’s podcast episode.

During this COVID era and working from home, our productivity has been challenged. This has a lot to do with the fact that there’s absolutely no separation of home and work. In fact, data has shown that many people are actually working more than they were before. Our computers are quite literally at our fingertips all day, which makes it tempting to continue our work well past our usual hours. This is actually making us LESS productive.

We don’t often think about this, but silence is a crucial part of productivity.  Listening is a critical skill that we’ve lost along the way. We have a way of either undervaluing it or treating it like a luxury. It’s time to make it a priority, and you can do that with three separate practices I share in today’s episode.

Rather than basing your productivity on how many tasks you can complete in one day, try measuring how much of the right work you get done. I’m talking about the creative work. The work that will lead you towards more joy.  Let’s rethink productivity. It’s time to think bigger, bolder, and smarter about your enjoyment of this beautiful life that’s right in front of you.

In this episode, I share:

  • What happens when you value silence, trust yourself, and act on your instincts
  • What is most often missed in our approach to productivity
  • The 3 questions to ask yourself while sitting in silence daily
  • A scientific way to access your brain’s best answers to solve problems and allow for free-flowing thinking
  • Which of your four brain waves to use and how to do so that you access your greatest ideation and productivity state

The Most Important Permission Slip You’ll Ever Write

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

Too often we look for others to give us the solutions to our own problems or when we have our solutions or best next steps, tell us when we can implement them. But what if we own that it’s our own permission that we need to grant instead of others. What if despite (or in light of) being the talented, hard-working, and intelligent leaders we are, we unwittingly overcomplicate or hesitate to employ our solutions by putting the onus on others?

When it comes down to it, we are actually the ones that hold the keys to the work and life we desire. Unfortunately, we’re often also the ones holding ourselves back from receiving them too.

Perhaps you’ve sat down and gained clarity on your aspirational vision and goals for the immediate future, but are unsure what to do next. What’s holding you back? Are you overwhelmed, overworked, or hesitant to make your next move? It may be as simple as giving yourself permission.

Maybe you’re someone who needs to give yourself permission to… step back, step forward, earn more, earn less, say “yes,” say “no,” delegate tasks, simplify, let it be easy, or feel joyful. Deep down there’s something you need to give yourself permission and to allow yourself to do, experience, or have. Regardless of how hard you work, you will never get what you want if YOU don’t first give yourself permission and allow it to be that great. And you don’t need to wait for someone else to give you that consent.

In this episode, I share:

  • How to know if granting yourself permission is what’s holding you back
  • Why you don’t need outside permission to begin doing what you want
  • How to break the habit that holds 99% of leaders back
  • How EXACTLY intelligent leaders unwittingly overcomplicate getting what they want
  • How to give yourself the right permission in order to bring your vision and goals into fruition.

3 Guideposts To Great Goal-Setting

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

As a leader, it is important to see things from a new perspective. It expands us and helps us to see what’s possible. This week I turn 50 and I’m determined to be intentional about continuing to experience new perspectives and have as many “firsts” as I can! It’s one of my goals for this year, and it aligns with my aspirational vision.

Have you thought about your goals lately? If not, today is the day. You can author your story and determine what your contribution to the world will be moving forward, regardless if it’s the beginning of a new year or not.  You have the choice to reset and refresh whenever you want! Don’t forget that you have infinite possibilities ahead of you.

Think of your work and life as a “choose-your-own-adventure” and your goals are the route you will choose and commit to get you there. My advice is this: keep your goals simple, don’t overthink it, commit, and make it fun.

In this episode, I share:

  • 3 essential guideposts for great goal setting
  • What you must do before sitting down to write your goals and common mistakes that people make in goal setting
  • The connection between your goals and your aspirational vision
  • Left brain practical ways to set up goals

Love Is The First Essential Leadership Principle

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

When times are tough, we tend to seek out the most complex strategies to fix the problem at hand. However, often the best thing to do is go back to the basics. There’s one thing that works time and time again when it comes to leading and succeeding, and that’s love. Is it really that simple? You bet.

Love makes the difference between good and great leaders, good and great teachers, good and great coaches. So, if you are looking for practical ways to turn things around and make a difference, start with love. Start with building relationships one tiny interaction at a time…without a hidden agenda. If you do, it is all but guaranteed that others will match your love frequency and pay it forward. Love heals.  Love makes money.  It is the number one strategy to solve problems whether it’s business, parenting, school, friendships, or athletics.

In this episode, I share:

  • The number one question to ask yourself in order to resist judgement of others
  • A look into how you can bring love into your leadership today
  • The most direct and powerful way to apply a love strategy in your relationships
  • Tools to move from good to great in whatever area you lead
  • Getting clear on whether you are contaminating or contributing to society

Receiving 4 Transformative Gifts Of The Pandemic

receiving-4-transformative-gifts-of-the-pandemic

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

There have been two types of conversations this year. The first is the COVID-complaint conversation. You know the one. We’ve all been a part of it a time or two. It’s when we list off all the things that are going wrong. Anxiety, worry, and stress are at the root of that discussion. The second conversation looks a lot different. It involves seeing the opportunity to declare what you want and bring something new forward. This is the conversation being had by innovators and leaders who wish to make life-changing impact.

Today we’re looking at why the second conversation is the one you want to be a part of. As we wind down for the holidays, let’s find the gratitude in the many gifts that this year has given to us. The truth is, this year has gone exactly as it was supposed to. The question is…will you receive this year’s gifts with open arms so that you become one of the people who expand during this time?

In this episode, I share:

  • The scientific explanation of what happens to your brain when you constantly complain and sit in negativity
  • The value in receiving and welcoming  the 4 essential gifts of the pandemic
  • Why rising above the noise and trusting the journey will lead you to become the most powerfully positive person in the room

Why You Want A Gratitude Game Plan

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

At one point or another, you’ve likely told yourself – once I get this, or achieve this, or experience that, then I will be happy. You convince yourself that if this one event takes place, your happiness will follow. You aren’t alone in this thinking. We’re all guilty of it. It’s what we’re taught by society. You’ve probably figured out by now that it doesn’t work like that. Not in science, not in physics, not anywhere!

What if I was to tell you that science can show you how to easily raise your baseline of happiness by upwards of 25%? Would you want to know how? There’s one thing that can do that. It’s gratitude. Gratitude is what fuels our happiness, yet so many people don’t practice it because they don’t understand how it works. Luckily, science demonstrates its miraculous return on investment. By actually feeling the emotion of gratitude, you hit buttons in the brain that have the ability to get more of what you want to experience.

In this episode, I share:

  • A life changing 5-step gratitude game plan to use in your business and at home
  • Why you shouldn’t let your brain “roam” and how gratitude can reign it back in
  • The powerful shifts that occur when we operate in a constant state of gratitude
  • How to identify gratitude, even during challenging times
  • The important link between gratitude and frequency every leader must know

The Real Reason For This Year’s Disruption

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

We’ve heard it over and over again, so let’s say it again – what a year this has been. Rather than focus on any negative aspects of our current times, there are so many reasons to be grateful for this period. I believe there has been a profound reason for this disruption. If it wasn’t this way, most of us would continue running on autopilot day after day. Thanks to 2020, we’re waking up and interrupting previous aspects of our identity.

There is an exciting momentum being generated from this disruptive year, if we know how to use it.  During this critical moment in your life, will you seize the opportunity to reset and evolve?

In this episode, I share:

  • 2 steps you can take right now to use the disruption to work for you
  • How to drop that one aspect of your identity that won’t allow what you want in
  • Why now is the time to tune into a higher frequency and what that means for your leadership
  • How to CHOOSE the experience you crave but haven’t had yet
  • Why uncovering the gifts hidden in the most troubling times is essential to your evolution.
