4 Simple Steps to Reclaim Your Power

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

Do you ever feel in your gut that you’re meant to do more, yet you’re holding back and you don’t know why? There’s a 99.9% chance it’s because you’re giving your power away. Giving your power away is single-handedly responsible for more unfulfilled lives than anything else. It holds back leaders from bringing their unique talents and gifts to others who desperately need what they have to offer.

When you hold back on your insight, voice, and wisdom, you operate at a half-version of yourself. These are signs you don’t trust yourself and are not owning the power you have. The good news is there are ways to stop leaking your power and reclaim it instead.  Doing THIS will put EVERYTHING — and I do mean EVERYTHING — into motion.  This episode shares what you need to know now so you can move on to the important decision making and action that will create life-changing impact in your work and the people you serve.

In this episode, I share:

  • The 4 point system to reclaim your power... and keep it ongoing
  • What is essential every leader do NOW to put their life-changing impact in motion
  • The EXACT questions to uncover where you are leaking your power
  • A 2- minute solution to stop your brain’s release of stress hormones
  • Plus a PDF Worksheet you can download to take the guesswork out of where this may be confronting you in a situation you’re facing right now.

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

Right now there is a lot of division, struggle, and chaos in the world. It’s weighing heavily on us and our leadership of ourselves and others. The problem: we are too quick to allow our outside circumstances to define us. We are allowing the fear of uncertainty, and the negativity around us, affect how we live. There’s an assumption that we don’t have a choice about what we think or feel. The fact of the matter is, the only thing you truly have control over in this world is your emotions.

So how do you self lead and self manage during these really difficult times? The answer is leading from the inside out. This is the only way that true change and transformation take place. It begins with good self-leadership. Today’s episode will provide you with effective methods of self leadership especially in difficult times that you can implement in order to take back control of your peace and happiness and expand your growth while you do.

In this episode, I share:

  • 4 specific ways to increase your self-leadership in difficult times
  • How to interpret and decode what your feelings ACTUALLY mean
  • What faith and fear have in common and the significant differentiator
  • Talking yourself into what you want, not out of it
  • Being a rebel and committing to an expansive next six months

The Power of Subtraction

The Power of Subtraction

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

When we are facing a challenge, so often our first reaction is to think about what we can ADD to solve the problem. It’s our brain’s impulse to avoid scarcity that compels us to add. We think we need to hire more people, get a new strategy, or buy more things to overcome the problem…when in reality, we need to do the complete opposite.

Here’s a secret:  the best way to expand — whether it’s your work, career, success, happiness, or growth —  is to eliminate. So, rather than rushing to think about what you can add to improve your current circumstances, pause and think about what you need to first let go of. This may be a self-imposed rule, a thought, a feeling, a habit, or a characteristic of your identity. Whether you are the CEO of a business or the CEO of your household, this episode will show you three specific ways to use the power of subtraction today to get more of what you want. You’ll learn why when in doubt…you should always subtract.

In this episode, I share:

  • 3 key areas to consider subtracting from your life and how to do it
  • How to evaluate the rules you’re making up that are holding you back from making the changes you desire
  • The cost of adding rather than eliminating

Two Words To Quiet The Noise And Finish 2020 Strong

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

It’s not your vision that’s the problem. It’s that you have TOO MANY of them.

This is a little known but commonly found problem among talented leaders who find themselves procrastinating, losing focus, or spinning their wheels.

If you’ve already got a clear vision of what you want and know to do when you sit down at your desk in the morning, but that doesn’t seem to be helping…you’re going to enjoy this episode.

Yes, there are those moments when you are in your zone, you are taking action on your most important work without hesitancy or overthinking.

In these moments you’re consistent, taking risks, betting on yourself and you experience the payoffs.

But then there are those times where you don’t show up at all. You don’t do what you want and know to do.

No matter what you try — more will power, massive action, new plan, believing in yourself or new strategy — you just can’t get yourself to do what you know you’re capable of doing.

What’s the difference?

It may be that you have TOO MANY visions.

In this episode, I share:

  • The three alternative visions that are distracting and draining you
  • Two words I use to move my attention back to my one BIG vision
  • How embracing uncertainty can bring a transformation to your business and your life
  • Practical steps to take when you’re not being the productive person you want to be

Growing Our Teens To Be Leaders

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

One of the greatest skills we can teach our children is how to use their inner resources to thrive — regardless of life’s circumstances.

Doing transformation work with adults for many years and being a mother of three, I am familiar with the anxiety our children are experiencing as they try to deal with the uncertainties and challenges of a world that’s been rearranged.

For that reason, my team decided to have a bit of a different show today.

In this episode, I interview a special guest, Kate. I’ve followed and worked with Kate for the last four years, from her senior year in high school to a rising Senior in college.

In this interview, Kate candidly shares real topics and fears she and other young adults struggle with today.  She includes her own perspective on important decisions from where to attend college to taking a gap year during a national pandemic.

I also asked her to break down her thinking on transforming negative thoughts, self-doubt, turning challenges into opportunities, and setting an intention in order to triumph over challenging circumstances.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Practical tools to help young adults during unprecedented times
  • How we can transform negative thoughts and self-doubt
  • Turning challenges into opportunities
  • Setting intention for yourself
  • 3 things you can do to support your young adult

Your Team Is Better When You Talk Less

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

Did you know that we only remember about 25-50% of what we hear? It may be surprising, but the research shows it’s true. It’s clear that listening is a skill we can all benefit from improving. I’m sure you’ve been in a conversation when it’s obvious the other person isn’t actually listening to you. It doesn’t feel good. On the flip side, are you conscious when you are doing this to others?

One of the most immediate ways you can care for and serve the person right in front of you, is to listen. In fact, actively being heard is one of the greatest gifts we can give another. Powerful connections are made when we have these authentic interactions.

I don’t need to tell you that listening builds our relationships and deepens our connections to everyone – our kids, spouse, coworker, team, you name it. The problem is most of us don’t realize how weak we are at it. After you listen to this episode you will understand why I am passionate about this topic. I share a personal story of a wake up call I got on an international stage-front and how it forced me to realize my own listening skills needed improvement.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why actively listening is a valuable skill
  • Several ways you can deliberately improve your own active listening skills
  • The insightful  benefits of becoming a better listener at work and at home
  • Questions you can ask to accurately evaluate yourself as an active listener

Move From Struggle To Ease With One Smart Question

You can listen to the full podcast episode here:

Our culture teaches us from an early age, that life is hard. Struggle makes you strong, gives you a purpose, something to do.  Yet resisting ease and being attached to struggle causes so many a great deal of stress, worry, and pain. The real problem is you can’t have a great life in struggle.  You can build a great business in struggle. What’s important to know is that in many cases this difficulty and struggle is totally self-induced and unnecessary.

The addiction to struggle single handedly prevents people from living a life of peace. It runs deep within me, and many others that I know. It starts to become a part of us, and in some ways it gives us purpose. What if we started to own the aspects of our lives that are easy to us? Better yet, what if we expect things to get easier than they already are? Imagine the time and energy and peace of mind we can get back if we simply let go of our attachment to the struggle.

You can begin to identify as the person that good things happen to. You can create solutions and build something great when you’re outside of the struggle. Today I’m sharing with you what happened when I shifted my mindset from “life is hard” to “life is easy”, and how you can do the same.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The underground reasons we look for ways to make things more difficult — even when they don’t have to be
  • What our culture teaches us about difficulty, hardship and struggle
  • How we can experience our life differently if we allow things to be easier
  • 4 simple steps to move from struggle to ease while performing and feeling better

Central to Rita’s work is the understanding that you will never outperform your current programming, no matter how strong your willpower.
