We’re all here to build and experience an incredible life. Perhaps you are already at a point where you feel that you have accomplished that. But when is the last time you shouted your success from the rooftops? This leads to my next big question which is, have you ever diminished your wins, or as I like to say – dimmed your light? I would venture to say if you’re like most the answer is yes.
I know what it’s like not to share your happiness so as not to make others feel bad or uncomfortable. We do this because we don’t want to seem like a threat or seem different than the next person. It’s all part of our culture, and it needs to change. We are told to be joyful and successful, but not too much. We are taught this very early on in life. I see it already in my own children. Let’s make today the day that changes. Rather than bonding over our weaknesses, how about we begin to speak freely about our talents and victories and in turn, inspire others to do the same.
In this episode I share:
- Why we tend to diminish our successes and the consequences of doing so
- Some of the subtle ways we dim ourselves around others
- The main differentiator when you’re celebrating your wins and successes
- How to change our approach to celebrating ourselves
